Additional special discounts on internal and external flight tickets for the disabled and the elderly.
According to al-Madina newspaper, the Information Technology and Transport Committee in the Majlis-e-Shura has asked the civil aviation department to encourage airlines to give more concession on tickets for domestic and foreign flights for the disabled and the elderly.
The council also called for upgrading the airport's basic services and upgrading the aircraft. "The Taif Airport should be built and expanded on modern lines."
Special steps should be taken to ease the burden of King Abdul Aziz International Airport Jeddah.
The special committee of the council recommended that a comprehensive strategic plan be made on a priority basis for the privatization of civil aviation activities and sectors.
Special policies should be formulated and encouraged for Saudi and foreign investors to participate in various airport projects.
The Shura's Transport Committee also demanded the aviation department to distribute the big projects into small projects and give them to specialists and eligible companies.
The Shura recommended that 'Saudi Arabian Airlines provide relief to the elderly and disabled on all its domestic flights'.
"The NASA company will only allow concessions on older flights to older and university students."
As far as other national airlines are concerned, the Department of Civil Aviation should be confident of giving them special discounts on their flights to these sections of the society. This discount will depend on the airlines' own financial position.
