The Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare has issued 12 million new visas during 2019 compared to 2018. Only six million visas were issued in 2018.
According to the Al-Watan newspaper, Saudi Vision 2030 aims to reduce unemployment by nine percent by 2020. Under this, there will be a target of providing employment to 450,000 Saudis.
By the end of 2020, 12 million Saudis will be employed as foreigners, then the vision will reach 2030.
According to Minister of Labor and Social Welfare Engineer Ahmad Al-Rajahi, "the number of visas issued by the Ministry of Labor during the year 2019 is twice as many as the visas issued during 2018".
The ministry issued 12 lakh visas in 2019 and only six lakh visas in 2018," he said.
According to the report of al-Awtan newspaper, 330,000 Saudis got jobs because of the saudification of multiple fields. Twenty-two people received jobs in twelve fields of saudation, 80,000 in the contractor and property sector and 40,000 in the communications sector.
Four new visas were issued to foreigners and one Saudi was provided employment against the four.
During the third quarter of 2019, private companies were issued 2 lakh 61 thousand 38 visas compared to the 2018 quarter.
