Makkah's Governor, Prince Khalid bin Faisal, is backing the project, which is being overseen by his deputy, Prince Badr bin Sultan, to provide easy transportation for pilgrims.
Another contractor is carrying out infrastructure works, which include main stations, stops, special lanes, pedestrian bridges, traffic lights control systems, and pedestrian lights among other things.
The project is a major milestone for Makkah's transportation system as it enhances the quality of life by simplifying the movement of city dwellers and pilgrims.
