51 more die as Saudi Arabia sees slight drop in new coronavirus cases
Saudi Arabia on Friday reported a slight drop in the daily reported coronavirus cases, with the detection of 3,159 new infections, bringing the total number of infections in the Kingdom to 226,486, according to a statement from the Ministry of Health.

The ministry also said that 51 more died due to complications caused by COVID-19 infection, taking the total number of virus-related fatalities in the Kingdom to 2,151.

According to the ministry’s statement, a total of 1,930 coronavirus patients have fully recovered, raising the total number of recovered cases in the Kingdom to 163,026.

Of the new cases, Riyadh recorded the most number of infections with 296 cases followed by Al Hafouf with 249 and Jeddah with 209 cases while Al Mobarraz, Dammam, Taif, Madinah, Khamis Mushayt and Makkah saw 198, 158, 139, 134, 131 and 108 new infections respectively.

According to the ministry, there are currently 61,309 active cases in the Kingdom, including 2,220 critical patients, and all of them are receiving necessary medical care.

The ministry added that it conducted 54,472 additional coronavirus tests over the past 24 hours, taking the total number of COVID-10 tests in the Kingdom so far to 2,179,808.
