New Jeddah, Makkah Highway project completed 51%
51% of the work on the new highway connecting Jeddah and Makkah is completed. The highway travels directly to Mecca from King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah.

According to the lesson website, the Mecca Governorate has said that the total length of the new highway will be 72km. It will have a speed limit of 140 km per hour, which will travel from Jeddah to Makkah in 35 minutes.

The Governorate has said that 'more than half the work on the project has been done. It is a two-way highway with 4 tracks on each side.

The governorate has said that 'the new highway starts at Third Ring Road in Makkah and ends at the airport bridge in Jeddah'.

The new highway will allow pilgrims and Umrah pilgrims to visit the airport, as well as to residents of the north of Jeddah.
