Saudi Red Crescent implements program to serve pilgrims
The Saudi Red Crescent Authority teams are available 24/7 in Madinah to help pilgrims.

Emergency medical teams are on all roads leading to Madinah, monitoring pilgrim convoys coming or going from the city.In Madinah, the Saudi Red Crescent Authority is carrying out its operational program to offer medical and emergency aid during the Hajj season.About 60 emergency teams have been working per shift since the start of July, according to Khalid Al-Sahli, the official spokesman of the SRCA in Madinah.

Emergency medical centers cover all roads to follow the pilgrim convoys arriving or leaving Madinah. He mentioned that 12 healthcare teams equipped with advanced tools simultaneously provide emergency services in Madinah to attend to all incidents and cases.

According to him, 1,000 male and female volunteers began work on Tuesday as part of a program to serve pilgrims and visitors in Madinah during the Hajj season this year.

Their main work location will be the Prophet’s Mosque, and they will work in both men’s and women’s sections and squares around it. At the Miqat Mosque, volunteer teams will support emergency teams based at the Prophet’s Mosque during peak hours and prayer times when pilgrims leave for Makkah. Members of government and private organizations working to serve pilgrims can attend sessions and lectures about emergency care organized by the authority’s training center. Flyers containing emergency information and instructions for the “Asefni” app are distributed to pilgrims. You can access the app on any mobile phone system, and it’s available in nine languages. If needed, an ambulance can be reached by dialing 997.
