Houthi missiles targeting Riyadh destroyed
The Arab Coalition has intercepted and destroyed Houthi ballistic missiles targeting the Saudi capital. The Houthi militia in Yemen launched eight drones and three ballistic missiles toward the city between late Monday and early Tuesday, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) quoted coalition spokesman Col. Turki Al-Maliki as saying on Tuesday.

The missiles were targeting innocent civilians, Col. Al-Maliki said. He described the attack as "hostile, deliberate and systematic operation to target civilians and civilian objects.” Earlier, the spokesman said the Houthi militia “launched a number of unmanned (booby-trapped) drones at civilians and civilian objects” from Saada in Yemen. Two were targeting Najran and the other was targeting Jazan.

"The terrorist Houthi militia is continuing to deliberately and systematically target civilians and civilian objects that are protected under the international humanitarian law,” Al-Maliki added.

The Iran-backed militants have targeted Saudi Arabia with 313 ballistic missiles and 357 drones in total, he added.

The United Arab Emirates has condemned the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist militia's attempts to target civilian areas in the Saudi cities of Riyadh, Najran, and Jazan with explosives-laden drones and ballistic missiles intercepted by the forces of the Arab Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen. The UAE on Tuesday reiterated its full solidarity with Saudi Arabia against all threats to civilians, affirming its support for all measures taken by Saudi authorities to maintain the country's security and stability in a statement issued by the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation carried by state news agency WAM. The ministry also affirmed that the security of the UAE and that of Saudi Arabia are indivisible, and any threat facing the Kingdom is considered a threat to the security and stability of the UAE. "The continuation of such attacks demonstrates the danger the Houthi coup poses to the region and further illustrates this militia's aim to undermine regional security and stability," it added.

Egypt, another strong regional ally of Saudi Arabia, expressed its strong condemnation of the Houthi militia targeting of residential areas and civilians in the Saudi cities by launching a number of bomb-laden UAVs and ballistic missiles. In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry affirmed Egypt's full solidarity and stance with the government and people of Saudi Arabia in facing any attempt to target its security and stability and Egypt's support for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in all measures taken in the face of terrorism.
