In another context, the General Directorate of Passports confirmed that the multiple family visit visa does not extend, and its holder must leave the Kingdom before the expiry of the period of residence specified in the visa, and the Passport Directorate received an inquiry, through its official account on the social networking site «Twitter» from one of its followers, in which it said: “For a multiple visit, if the length of stay in the Kingdom reaches 180 days on two trips before 365 days have passed since the visa was printed on the passport, is it possible to obtain a new visit visa or must the 365 days elapse before applying for a new visit visa.”

The Passports Directorate replied that the multiple family visit visa is not extended, and the holder must leave the Kingdom before the expiry of the period of residence specified in the visa, and then return again to the Kingdom to complete the visit visa period.

The family visit visa can be extended through the Absher platform up to 180 days from the date of entry, and must be taken into account before requesting the extension process, that it be 7 days before the end of the validity of the visa, and that the visa has passed more than three days, and does not exceed a period of Visit visa 180 days after the date of entry into Saudi Arabia.

The travel documents system stipulates that it is permissible to leave the Kingdom except for those who carry a valid travel document, and it is not permissible to leave or enter the Kingdom except from the ports specified by the Minister of Interior. The executive regulations shall indicate entry and departure procedures.

The system also stipulates that anyone who leaves or enters the kingdom without a travel document - unless he has an acceptable excuse - is penalized with a fine of no more than five thousand riyals, or a travel ban for a period not exceeding three years, or with both.
